Just because we changed our name doesn't mean we changed everything. While you may have known us as Northern Valley, we have decided on a name that best reflects the area we serve. We at Pocono Mountain Umpire Association are still bringing you the best! Each umpire receives in depth training and is held to the highest standards regarding mechanics, positioning, rules and a love of the game. We also utilize a mentoring program and pair our senior umpires with new umpires to spread the wealth of knowledge. Our members pride themselves on their appearance, management and most importantly, their professional and clear communication with both coaches and players.

PMUA's Owner  and Primary Assignor is Vanessa. She is responsible for contracts and contract renewals, scheduling league games and assigning umpires to those games, as well as recruiting new umpires for PMUA. For all leagues, she is the main point of contact. And when she's not doing that, Vanessa is the team photographer for the Cardinals wrestling club, a travel baseball mom to her two sons and a cheer mom to her daughter.

Trainers are Michael Malek and John Hamilton. Michael has been involved in baseball since childhood and continued his playing into college at Penn State as a left handed pitcher. John is a PIAA certified umpire. Both have officiated for adult baseball, adult softball, little league softball, little league baseball and tournament baseball. Youth trainers are Zach Transue,  Tim Napoli, and Jadelyn VanWinkle. Zach was a varsity baseball player as a first baseman and catcher for Pocono Mountain East and is also a trainer at Country Mile Academy. Tim is currently a varsity starting catcher at Pocono Mountain East. Jade is a member of the Pocono Pride 18U travel softball team and a four year starter for the Pocono Mountain East varsity softball team. Zach has worked for PMUA for 7 years, Tim for 3 years and Jade for 4 years.
